ISO 9001 is a standard setting out the criteria for a quality management system. It helps companies and organisations increase their efficiency and improve customer satisfaction.

MASE-UIC v2014 Certification

This certification is delivered by local MASE committees. The management system implemented is sustainable over time and aims to promote the sharing of efforts between partners and develop a relationship of trust. The results of certified companies reflect how sustainable systems can also improve results in the field. On average, the number of accidents are divided by three, whether in frequency or severity, within MASE certified companies.

Our History

Experts in sugar beet processing since 1843, we have become over time and through our acquisitions, specialists in the trades and know-how of the sugar beet industry. The technologies we have developed and acquired are now a reference in the field. Design, manufacturing, delivery, assembly, inspection; whether a full service package or a more specific request, we support our clients throughout and after the implementation of their industrial projects. Today, Maguin is made up of 110 qualified employees, 2 production sites and over 1,000 completed projects.

The Founding of the Company

Constant Tordeux creates a file factory, employing 30 workers.

The Factory is Sold to Alfred Maguin

Maguin, Charmes, France. A Maguin is interested in the booming sugar industry and the diffusion process. A revolution. The industry needs knives, knife holders and beet slicers, so he builds a knife factory and several workshops.

Invention of the Rotary Root Cutter

This is the greatest advance in beet cutting, as it produces high quality cossettes. Output of 600 T/day.

A New Factory

In 1907, the factory is destroyed by a fire. It is rebuilt, spreading over 15 ha, and is connected to the railway, employing 500 workers.

Manufacturing at the Charmes Factory in the 30s

Alongside the constantly improving specialities for which they are renowned worldwide (diffusion knives, beet washers, hydraulic stone/weed catchers, beet elevators, drum beet slicers), the Société Nouvelle des Etablissements Maguin manufactures all the required equipment for sugar factories, refineries, distilleries, product factories, etc.

The 1950s

The Maguin activity undergoes some changes. As Maguin’s sugar business continues to expand, the company also begins to specialise in the manufacturing of equipment for the chemical industry, with all kinds of rotary drum (dryers, granulators, etc.) and a range of 3-cylinder fertiliser crushers.

Maguin Joins the Moret Industries Group

Maguin is bought out by Moret Industries, allowing the company to diversify its business, thus far focused on the design and manufacturing of industrial pumps and sugar refinery machinery and equipment.

1994

Acquisition of Fours Delot International

Maguin expands its process range by incorporating FDI’s technology, specialising in the preparation of lime for purification purposes in sugar refineries.

1998

Acquisition of Chelmza Poland

Maguin expands its business presence into Eastern Europe. Chelmza is a production site specialised in the manufacturing of sheet metal machinery, such as sugar dryers, bag filters, fixtures and various other machine-welded equipment.

2000

Acquisition of Intéris

Maguin diversifies its business with Intéris, founded in 1989 and specialising in the production of bioethanol and rectified alcohol units from the raw materials in sugar-beet, sugar cane and cereals, as well as sorghum or cassava.

Acquisition of Remex

Maguin incorporates Remex’s technology, vibrating screens specialists, thus completing its beet washing line.

2008

Acquisition of Buckau Wolf’s know-how

This marks the birth of Maguin’s diffusion technology. Maguin continues to develop its expertise in the sugar industry’s upstream processes, by adding juice extraction.

2015

Acquisition of JPi Maintenance

Maguin completes its client support services with JPi Maintenance, founded in 2002, and specialised in industrial maintenance within the sugar industry.

2016

Sugar, Environment and Alcohol & Bioconversion division at Moret Industries

With over 170 years of experience, Maguin continues to develop on an international level.

2019

New Corporate Governance / Diversification

Maguin diversifies its business; methanation, nuclear, cement/lime, wood/paper, mines/quarries, on-land and offshore wind power, aeronautics, space, naval, rail, agri-food, steel, agricultural machinery, construction, etc.
